Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on the 12th of November, 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast, and holds the record for being given 10/10 points at an Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi, the Romanian gymnastics coach who would become Comaneci's coach later on she discovered her when she was six. Comaneci was the first to compete for time in the national junior championships, placing 13th. The following year she became champion. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972 at a pre-Olympic Junior meet for the communist-bloc countries she took home three gold medals and in 1973 and 1974 she became an all-around junior champion. In her very first competition at a senior level Lyudmila Turkishcheva, a Russian athlete, won five gold medals as well with one silver. She was the first female ever to perform the backwards double salto after dismounting from an unbalanced parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She began her career in the entertainment industry as a teenager performing as a figure skating duo with their twin sister Nina Wayne for the travelling show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne born 6 September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol started her professional career as an entertainer in her teens. Early on she was a figure skater on the show Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. The shows featured theatrical ice-skating performance.
