Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. Her early Broadway performances included Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. She was awarded the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in the Play to play Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh has worked on projects with award-winning director, actors and producers throughout her career. Ashford's next project will be a limited-edition Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show debuts on November 22 and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently filming for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film is scheduled to air on Disney DTC as it becomes a Hulu Original. Ashford returns to Broadway in the month of March 2023 where he will star alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The group behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at control of the production. Ashford's latest part was that of Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the National scandal that featured Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, as well as Linda Tripp. Ashford was the main character in two seasons of CBS Comedy B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No no stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her portrayal of Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Additional Broadway performances for Ashford include Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this role, she earned the Tony Award nomination. Ashford, who was raised in Denver, now spends time living in Los Angeles and New York.
